Terms of Service

Welcome to PlantDoctor ("the App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

PlantDoctor is a mobile application that helps you identify plant diseases from photos, offers treatment advice and product recommendations, provides plant-care reminders, and lets you ask an AI botanist about plant care.

2. Not Medical or Professional Advice

PlantDoctor provides informational content only. It is not a substitute for professional agronomy, horticulture, or pest-control advice. Product recommendations are general suggestions; always read and follow the manufacturer's label. You use the App at your own risk and are solely responsible for your plant-care decisions and any purchases you make.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Accounts

You need an account to use the App: sign in with Google (on iOS, Apple sign-in may also be available). Your data is tied to your account and syncs across your devices. You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time: in the app via Settings → "Delete account", or by emailing us (see §15). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel it first in your store's subscription settings. You are responsible for activity on your device. You agree not to attempt to access another user's data or disrupt the service.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• PlantDoctor offers pay-per-scan credits and an optional auto-renewing Pro subscription, billed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
• Pro includes 50 credits per month on both monthly and annual plans. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
• Credits are consumable purchases that never expire; once you sign in, credit balances are tied to your account and sync across devices.
• We never auto-enroll you in a free trial. Trials are explicit, opt-in, and you will be notified before any charge.
• Downgrading or cancellation does not delete your plant data.
• The applicable price and currency are shown by your store before purchase. Price changes follow App Store / Google Play rules. Refund eligibility follows the applicable store policy and your statutory rights.

6. Your Uploaded Content

You retain ownership of the photos and text you upload. We process them to provide identification, AI advice, and your private plant records as described in our Privacy Policy. The App does not offer a public community feed. You agree not to upload:

• Content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or hateful;
• Spam, scams, or unauthorized commercial solicitations;
• Content that infringes others' intellectual property;
• Personal information of others without consent.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse engineer the App; scrape or misuse APIs; attempt to exceed rate limits on identification or AI features; or use the App to diagnose plants of others for commercial gain without permission.

8. Intellectual Property

PlantDoctor's name, logo, interface, and content (excluding user posts and third-party product links) are owned by PlantDoctor. You may not copy or reuse them without written permission.

9. Third-Party Links

The App links to third-party products (e.g., Amazon). We are not responsible for those sites' content, availability, or prices. Purchasing from such links is between you and the seller.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ACCURACY OF DIAGNOSES OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLANTDOCTOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App for violations of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in California.
